Williamsport, PA… For the safety of passengers and bus operators, River Valley Transit added 2 more buses between 10am – 2pm weekdays. The increase in bus trips avoids over-crowding on buses. Additional timepoints have been added going both East and West departing from the Trade & Transit Center. See schedule.

Bus operators have been instructed on managing rider’s fears and concerns as well as given masks, gloves and cleaning agents. Riders are asked to only use bus service to go to work, medical appointments, grocery stores and other essential trips.

On March 21 River Valley Transit changed service hours and eliminated fares to encourage social distancing. Passengers are not required to purchase fare or passes to ride River Valley Transit buses. Riders are required to enter and exit the bus using the rear door to minimize driver contact unless they need to use the ramp for wheelchair boarding or other mobility devices.

“River Valley Transit is committed to protecting our riders, bus operators and other team members by eliminating fare box interaction and bus pass sales inside our transit lobby,” said Adam Winder, General Manager. “As always bus operators are able to assist riders and help with directions and general route information.”
