Employment – Class B Diesel Mechanic

Class B Diesel Mechanic – 2nd Shift3:30-12am, Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Perform preventive maintenance on Diesel and Compressed Natural Gas Buses as well as Autos and light trucks and equipment
  • Minor mechanical repair work: Tire & wheel, brakes, batteries, belts & hoses
  • Parts replacement on vehicle operating systems
  • Servicing of Buses
  • Road test
  • Position requires a valid CDL class B with Passenger Endorsement and Air Brake restriction lifted as well as PA State Inspection license of the appropriate class. 

Will train the right candidate for each certification.

RVT Adds Daytime Bus Trips

Williamsport, PA… For the safety of passengers and bus operators, River Valley Transit added 2 more buses between 10am – 2pm weekdays. The increase in bus trips avoids over-crowding on buses. Additional timepoints have been added going both East and West departing from the Trade & Transit Center. See schedule.

Things to keep in mind

  • Riders are encouraged to only use bus service to go to work, medical appointments, grocery stores and other essential trips.
  • Riders are required to enter and exit the bus using the rear door to minimize driver contact unless they need to use the ramp for wheelchair boarding or other mobility devices.
  • Passengers will not be required to purchase fare or passes to ride River Valley Transit buses until further notice.
